Dark Room Arcade

Dark Room Arcade was a group project done in my fourth year at Iowa State University taught by Bryan Clendenen. For this project, our groups were assigned the task to create something that would make students look up from their phones. My group decided to create an interactive gaming activity designed to have students engage with the camera on a computer and use their bodies/motion to play each game. The games consisted of either moving the hands or the entire body to either chop objects, float bubbles, or move around falling blocks. Each game was coded and programmed to work with our camera on a computer. During this event, we also had a hydro-dipping station for take home souvenirs and a LED Sticky station where you could build different pieces of art using LED bulbs hooked up to batteries and velcro.
